Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) provides water and electricity services to over 780,000 customers across the emirate of Dubai. It was formed in 1992 through a merger between the Dubai Electric Company and the Dubai Water Department, which had been operating independently since 1959. DEWA has invested in a wide range of smart services to improve convenience, speed and security for customers. The entity’s E-services portfolio, which includes online bill payments, smart metres, Hayyak video chat service, mPay and substation inspections, has continued to grow. DEWA’s happiness rate, based on customer surveys, reached 95% in 2016.
